Editing Services

Proofreading  ($.01-$.02/word; minimum charge $49)

  • proofreading includes correcting 1) spelling errors, 2) grammatical errors, and 3) errors in diction
  • proofreading DOES NOT include any formatting or style-guide edits, or content editing
  • pricing is based on how heavy an edit is required: light ($.01/word), medium ($.015/word), or heavy ($.02/word)
  • the proofreading rate will be determined by CWC staff and sent to the client in the form of an estimate
  • if the client accepts the estimate, 50% of the cost will be due before the project begins, and the rest once the project is complete

Copy Editing ($.02/word minimum; minimum charge $49)

  • copy editing includes correcting 1) spelling errors, 2) grammatical errors, and 3) errors in diction
  • copy editing includes any formatting or style-guide edits
  • copy editing includes light editing of content, such as suggested changes to 1) awkward phrasing and 2) redundancies found in the manuscript
  • pricing is based on how heavy an edit is required, with a light edit beginning at $.02/word
  • the copy editing rate will be determined by CWC staff and sent to the client in the form of an estimate
  • if the client accepts the estimate, 50% of the cost will be due before the project begins, and the rest once the project is complete
