Formatting Services

Formatting matters! After spending so much time writing, editing, and rewriting your work, don’t throw away all that effort by submitting a poorly formatted query letter or manuscript. Agents and editors can be extremely picky about their submission guidelines and may refuse to read a submission that is not formatted appropriately. Let us help you get past this first hurdle and ensure that your submission materials are formatted correctly.

The services below only include formatting of the listed materials. Although we will point out any obvious errors or issues we find in your submission materials, we do not offer critiques or do any editing of your submission materials. We have two tiers of formatting packages to choose from. Please fill out and submit the form below or contact us with any questions that you have.

Basic Template Formatting

A La Carte Menu

  • Query letter (1-2 pages):  $20
  • Synopsis (1-2 pages): $20
  • Nonfiction Book Proposal: $150
  • Author bio (less than one page): $10
  • 10 pages of your manuscript: $25
  • Full manuscript: Price based on the total word count of your manuscript

Fiction Submission ($50)

This package includes formatting submission materials for a fiction book project. You will need to personalize these materials based on the submission guidelines of each agent or publisher. We will format:

  • a query letter (1-2 pages)
  • a synopsis (1-2 pages)
  • an author bio (less than one page)
  • up to 10 pages of your manuscript (extra charges may apply if you need more pages)

Nonfiction Submission ($200)

This package includes formatting submission materials for a nonfiction book project. You will need to personalize these materials based on the submission guidelines of each agent or publisher. We will format:

  • a query letter (1-2 pages)
  • a nonfiction book proposal
  • an author bio (less than one page)
  • up t0 10 pages of your manuscript (extra charges may apply if you need more pages)

Premium Click-to-Submit Formatting

Let us take care of the personalization! We will format and personalize your submissions for up to 10 agents or publishers, ensuring that each agent’s or publisher’s preferences and guidelines are followed exactly. You will only need to cut and paste the material into an email or print it out to submit by post. Make it easy on yourself!

Fiction Submission for 2 Agents or Publishers ($150, +$50 each additional agent or publisher)

We will format:

  • a query letter (1-2 pages)
  • a synopsis (1-2 pages)
  • an author bio (less than one page)
  • up to 3 chapters of your manuscript (extra charges may apply if you need more pages)

Nonfiction Submission for 2 Agents or Publishers ($300, +$50 each additional agent or publisher)

We will format:

  • a query letter (1-2 pages)
  • a nonfiction book proposal
  • an author bio (less than one page)
  • up to 3 chapters of your manuscript (extra charges may apply if you need more pages)
